I NEED TO MACHINE A PLANE IN RELATION TO A HOLE AND ANOTHER DATUM PLANE AT 45 DEG. FROM THE MACHINED PLANE. WHAT SHALL I USE TO DOCUMENT THIS? 1-ANGULARITY? 2-SURFACE PROFILE? 3-JUST PLAIN OLD +/-.015" AND A 45 DEG. ANGLE? |

Do you mean to machine a planer section with reference to the centerline of a hole? If so, the angle would have to be specified and some reference distance along that centerline which pierces the plane. |

The problem is that i don't want the tolerance of the angle (45 deg. +/-.5 deg) of the plane to machine to add up to the distance from the hole axis.

I'm a little confused. I reread your original post and see that there is a "datum plane". Do you mean that we are talking machining a planer section at 45 deg to datum plane in which there is a hole drilled at right angles. Post back if this is or is not correct and we can go further. |
