I'm looking to replace a simple compression spring of steel with a rubber spring (or of some other material that can be used in seawater). Anyone know some suppliers of these? I was hoping to find something simple like a rubber spring in the shape of a cone. Dimensions should be about 3*3*4 cm. Thank you

Yes, one of the best "rubber" springs is polyurethane. Polyurethane can be purchased from a couple of major catalog houses in several diameters and durometers. If you want a special shape there are several companies on the web that will provide it to you. Polyurehtane is usually mixed and poured into a mold. Polyurethane is often used in die sets for stripper springs and such. It has good compressibility, memory, and life cycle factors. -randy- The worst suggestion of your lifetime may be the catalyst to the grandest idea of the century, never let suggestions go unsaid nor fail to listen to them. |
