I am looking for a calculation that can be used to determine the required bond area when bonding two materials such as glass and aluminum together. For example, what would be the required bond area if you bond glass to an aluminum window frame using silicone or polyurethane? I know the weight of the glass and the lap shear strength of the sealant. Are there reduction factors for temperature or static load that must be applied? |
