Greetings,

This is my first semester in a drafting and design (CADD) program and my instuctor isn't the best at explaining things.  I am trying to draw a six view orthographic drawing of a dovetail bracket made of cast iron that has fillets and rounds that are 1/8R.

While I understand what fillets and rounds are, I am completely confused on the visabilty "rules" for drawing them on paper in a orthographic drawing.  Does anyone out there understand the theory behind this???  My instructor loves to mark my drawings wrong, but doesn't seem to want to explain how I can stop making these mistakes.

For example, I have a isometric pictorial sketch of this dovetail bracket that I need to draw with partial dimensions.  From this drawing, I can clearly see that I need to have a couple of rounds on the front view of my orthographic drawing, but when I go to draw the left and right-side views, I am totally lost on whether or not I should draw or not draw the line with the round???

I am so tired of getting marked off for this stuff.  I have searched the Internet and visited B&N and BooksAMillion to find another drafting/engineering drawing textbook to see if I could find the answer but wasn't able to find anything other than the standard definition of fillets and rounds.

Can somebody please help???
