Hi Darren,

You need to use about 66% of yield for these two bolt grades in order to establish their shear capacity. In other words, for grade 4.6 bolts about 16kg/mm^2 and grade 8.8 bolts about 42kg/mm^2. For the area of the bolt, take the diameter at the bottom of the thread.
