Hello everyone im kinda new here and i need help. I need information on chain and sprocket design. Im designing a wheelchair that uses a "track" or a chain drive system to convey it up the stairs. The chain will be in tension and will have to support the wheelchair. I believe that the wheelchair and the stairs will try to deflect the chain so i would like to know how to calculate the maximum deflecting force. Can someone suggest a site or book or even give me an answer directly on how i can do this. you can email me at ------------- Admin: No emails - visitors can use the Email Author link Plz help me!!!!!! See /mechanical_components/roller-chains-review.htm There are specifiations at the bottom that are a strarting point. Try hard to use a industry standard chain and spocket size. For the best performance, design in a idler--tensioner follower. Also, see any printing of Machinery's Handbook. Modified by Kelly Bramble at Wed, Nov 22, 2006, 08:29:00 |
