i want to squeeze out oil in groundnut seeds using a simple oil expeller i want to design. to cause a constriction in the extraction chamber i will use a varing diameter shaft for the screw, so as to reduce the area at the exit point in the chamber thus increasing the presure exerted on the seeds, sqeeze out the oil. i want to know if there are any relationships between either of screw pitch, feed, choke and density of the nuts. |

I think that the only challenging question you have is "pressure exerted on the seeds, sqeeze out the oil". Most experienced folks here can easily deign a cork-screw type squeezer, however most don't know the amount of squeeze required for the seeds. CHances that you will rum into an expert on the seeds is slim. I suggest you design a variable squeeze screw-feed machine and experiment with the amount of choke and squeeze. |

i have access to very little literature in screw design, i am unable to realy visualise a cork-screw type squeezer and how it can help me in my quest, thus it is difficlut for me to design one. maybe can you help me with the main design parameters |
