Our application is 2 hydraulic cylinders are used to lift and lower the 3 ton weight. While lowering the weight through proportional valve, the cylinders start to jerk. However the proportional valve is operated manually with gradual speed by manual over ride, it operates smoothly without any jerk. Pilot operated check valve (sandwich type) and flow divider are in between the proportional valve and 2 cylinders. Any one can suggest solution to stop the jerking of cylinders?

The obvious one is ofcourse that your proportional valve is causing it because it's defect or because it's not suitable for the task.
However if you have doubleacting cylinders and the pilot pressure to checkvalve comes from the no-load side then you have a good setup for jerky motions. I'm not sure how to cure it though. Perhaps put in an checkvalve/orifice on the pilot line or just get the pilot pressure from somewhere else.
I have no idea what your contraption looks like but if there is any possibility for the load to jam if it becomes unbalanced it could create jerky motions. Flowdividers are far from perfect.

Put a restrictor in each cylinder on the side that gravity is pushing the oil out. You are not feeding the oil to the cylinders faster than what it is coming out, thus loosing piolet pressure. The PO Checks will close, build pressure, open, loose pressure, close...ect. With the restrictors, you will essentially be forcing the oil our of the cylinders thus always maintaining piolet pressure.
