hello
can anybody give me the definition of gauge length. is that lengh is the axial lenght ie. length along the elogation when a tensile force is applied or it is a diametral length.i know gauge length as the sample length taken during any testings (mechanical testings). but in the competitive exam which i am preparing papers contains this question.
so please anybody give me the clear idea of gauge lenght.
