Can anyone lend some insight into how to do this? It's easy if the hole has a constant diameter but what if it does not? ASME Y14.5M-1004 doesn't cover this scenario, nor does Drake's book or Wilson's book! |

You do the same as identifying a countersink hole feature as a datum. If you are specifying the tapered hole with two diameter dimensions, then just create a section view and indicate to the surface of tapered hole feature with your datum anchor symbol. When using a single dimension (dia. Size X Degrees angle), then attach the datum to the feature of size dimension. |
