I need to machine an internal 2.5 - 8 straight pipe thread. It's the first time I've been exposed to this thread. I can't find any data pertaining to it. Can anyone help me.

I need to know the major dia, minor dia, pitch dia, thread form, and anything else that will help me machine it.

The thread is in a round tube, so I'd like to turn it. Can anyone give me a reason to thread mill it?

Thank you.

HOPE THIS WILL HELP.

if you can lay your hands on the 'Machinery's Handbook' it gives three possible straight pipe threads,
(1)NPSC threads for pipe couplings
(2)NPSM threads for Mechanical Joints
(3)NPSL threads for Locknuts
my handbook is the 20th edition and the info is on pages 1401-1403.
hope this is of some help
