Electroplating Steel - Calculations

I have many steel parts which I need to electroplate. I know the mat'l thickness, the mass, and the specific gravity of them. Can the surface area be calculated from this information to help determine the amount of solution required for the plating process?

The surface area is calulated from the height x width x length. Mass and specific gravity have nothing to do with surface area.

Using the height x width x length gives you the volume, not the surface area. Also many of my parts are irregular shapes or assemblies of several parts.

You can build the parts by CAD soft,such as Pro-E,Catia etc. It will calculate the surface area))),,,but it's a stupid way.....
