I am interested in knowing the torque capacity of the #2 Morse taper given an axial load. I understand there are a lot of factors such as taper tolerance ,taper length engagement, surface finish of mating parts, coefficient of friction, material of mating parts etc. Therefore a series of equations would be great if anyone is aware of these. Machinery Handbook DOES NOT have info on torque capacity. I have e-mailed 3 tool suppliers that fabricate tools and tool holders with the Morse taper but not one had the information.
