I am looking for technologies for the next project:
Essentially, let's say I have this tube , and it contains some sort of liquid. I would like to be able to move droplets of the liquid over lengths of microns. so, I'll bring each droplet to its own tiny sit on a plate.
My thought was to take an inkjet tube, put the liquid inside and then to send it a command to "shoot" droplets threw each hole.
1) Do you think it can be done?
2) I want to collect the shooted droplets, and so I would like to build a plate, that will "collect" each drop, and then i want to be able to move the droplet to a certain location over the plate.
3) I have heard there is a tool called "flow cytrometer", I am, not sure what it is exactly. does anyone if its technology can help me with that?

Anyone has an idea? Can you direct me to certain literature? web site? I need to learn how to build it or if that will be way too hard, at least to know exactly how to describe an engineer exactly what specifications i need. so i need to know capablities, disabilities, power consumption, etc.
