Hey guys I'am new to this forum and was wondering if I could pick someone's brain. I've got an interview with Firth Rixson and was told that I will have a technical interview about a Davy press and metal extrusion. They said they will ask me questions about problems related to design restraints and variation wall thickness. I know it may sound a bit random but I would appreciate any ones feed back Modified by ed_uk2010 at Wed, Dec 09, 2009, 12:01:57 |

Looks like it'd be a cool place to work. (not literally cool... cool like sweet...) I'm a big fan of forging and forming metals. One thing to remember when you're responding to their questions is this. They know the correct answer so don't try to baffle them with BS. Do some searches on the world wide web on the exact things you mentioned. You'll find articles discussing process improvements in quality and cycle times attained by re-furbishing older presses with new bearings etc. There are a bunch of articles out there on pressing and forging operations to look at that might better prepare you for your interview. Another thing... If you don't know the answer to something they ask don't apologize for not knowing. Maybe better to ask them to explain the answer to you. Like... If you don't mind could you fill me in on why that is?... etc. Good Luck...! |
