Hi all , need help over here..
currently doin a project which required me to do water proofing on the edge of 2 material which is place in a T shape. but no matter what i use , i cant seem to stop water from leaking into the pipe i have.. i have try silicon , clay and epoxy adhesive. any idea of how to solve the problem without spendin much as funding is running low. thanx all .. |

After using silicon nothing else will stick to it unless you have totally removed the silicone, which is not easy unless you sand paper or power wire brush the material. The worst suggestion of your lifetime may be the catalyst to the grandest idea of the century, never let suggestions go unsaid nor fail to listen to them. |

Have you looked at using butyl rubber tape? It usually has the brand name Nashua, has aluminum on one side and blue butyl on the other side. I have patched pipes with that. Just make sure they are very clean and dry. Scuffing with sandpaper as randy said should be a great idea. Also, if you can't find that,they have tape to seal around windows when they are installed. It has a black tar/rubber type compound on one side and plastic tape on the other. It works well (I have used for patching gutters) and is similar to the stuff they use under tar-paper in northern climes that comes in 3 ft wide rolls. Good luck |
