Engineering departments????

hey guys,

neat site. well my question is some what related , i'm thinking about, well interested in computer engineering (hardware) field.
but haven't been able to decide the uni i should do in ,,?? my options are restricted to public unis>>> so how can i decide which uni's engineering department is better>>> is there a website or someother source ??

one more thing?? when it comes to hiring does a person's educational institute matters?? esp at entry level positions>>> and how much a difference it makes??
