3M introduced a new low-profile vertical surface mount design, which is the next generation of the 3M four-wall header 2500 series from the 3M Electronic Solutions Division. The connector measures .100" x .100" and allows surface mount components to be placed on the opposite side of the board. The surface mount tails on the RoHS-compliant 3M design are visible, allowing for post-processing cleaning and joint inspection, which results in higher-quality assurance
