Hi everyone,
I was just wondering. If I have an axle mounted by a bearing on both sides, which gets driven by an actuator on just 1 side of the axle creating a moment, like the image below.
What kind of stresses will occur on the axle? And how can I minimize them?
Thanks for your help everyone!
Chris
You left out the driven loads. Where are they?
Your actuator creates a torsion load on the shaft, which is a form of shear load. Calculators are available.
