HI,
I got a customer who is requesting a hole with R6 tolerance(13 microns) and this also needs to be electro plated.
The electro plating thickness is min 2 microns.
We are having issues achieving this as our platers feel we need to control the ID within 3 microns and allow them large tolerance as plating tolerance is hard to control.
This parameter also needs SPC which makes it even more difficult.
Any recommendation how to process this portion?
Electroplating inside that small hole will be hard to control. Electro-plating will build up most at the edges rather than uniformly plating the bore.
An electro-less nickle plating will build up much more uniformly. Can you use that in your application?
