i figured this out. please delete ADMIN
Hey guys, thanks for the help in advance. Here is the question I need some foundation to support my assumptions. essentially a W6X15 wide flange steel beam is anchored at the bottom and extends up 93inches. At 85inches up, another W6X15 L assembly is bolted to it and supports piping. I have the total Moment of 31872 lb*in and the total weight of the forces from the pipe 1631.5 lbs but what i need to figure out is if the main W-beam will support the additional weight and also what bolt design will support the moment. The bolt layout is not defined except that at a minimum a 4 bolt hole pattern must be used(2 on each side of the flange). If a 4 bolt hole layout is over sufficient, that is fine as long as I show the calcs.
I assume this is a very basic cantilever & bolt loading formula that I am over complicating. Thoughts on approach?thanks!
