Please Can anybody suggest me?
Dear,
I have two cases for understanding the torque.
attaching one Picture with two cases.
i have to compress the rubber part with 1meter long fixture. load application is from 1meter distance from hinge center. Torque = load(f) x distance(1m) X sin90degree(1). this is i know to find torque.
rubber is put on different location. Q: will the load vs deformation of rubber same for both cases? why/whynot?
kindly anybody suggest.
Please Can anybody suggest me?
THe load on the rubber for a given torque will decrease in proportion to the distance from the pivot to the rubber contact point. For example, if a given torque will load a rubber item placed 12 inches from the pivot to 100 lbs; then, if that same item is placed 24 inches from the pivot that same torque will only load it to 50 lbs.
