I believe the problem that I am working on is a Class 2 lever. I am using a rotating shaft with tubing as my transport for picking up a piece of equipment. The equipment weighs appox. 15,000 lbs. The center of gravity of the equipment is 211" from the fulcrum. The tires on the transport contact the ground at 250" from the fulcrum. The center of gravity for the equipment gives more weight on one side of the transport (appox. 55%). I ran the numbers and came up with an Effective Force = 12,660 lbs, but I want to make sure it is the same when below the parallel. Also I want to see how much of the weight is transferred to the fulcrum as the equipment is lifted (assuming this is cos< and sin< for resulting forces). I have already done a stress analysis on the transport with the given forces, I just want to make sure that I am inputing the correct forces. The total length of the piece of equipment is 362". Thanks!
