I have a Spindle cantilevered off a bearing pivot, the CG is 195mm off the center of the pivot and it has a mass of 193kg. The desired acceleration is 300 deg/s/s; I would like to spec the motor off the torque required, I have already calculated the torque required from friction to maintain speed but that number will be very low compared to the rotational inertia and I can't remeber how to calculate that. Any help would be appreciated.

How do I relate the mass moment of inertia back to torque?
