Water-Cooled Condenser Flow Requirements Calculator
The volumetric flow rate of condensing water required can be calculated from
Pressure as a function of altitude is
Eq. 1
Q = qo / [ ρcp(t2 - t1) ]
where
Q = volumetric flow rate of water (ft3 / hr)
Multiply ft3/hr by 0.125 to obtain gpm
qo = heat rejection rate (Btu / ft3)
ρ = density of water (lb / ft3)
cp = specific heat of water at constant pressure (Btu / lb-°F)
t1 = temperature of water entering condenser (°F)
t2 = temperature of water leaving condenser (°F)
